Canvas courses not published

To open an unpublished course, click the name of the course. When an instructor receives a new Canvas course site, it is, by default, Unpublished. This means that any students that have registered for the course and have accounts on the course site will not have a Canvas Card link on their Dashboard for the course until the Instructor "Publishes" the course site. On the "All Courses" page, you will see a list of all the courses you are enrolled in currently.

Look for the course(s) that do(es) not appear on your dashboard, and under the "Published" column, see if it says "Yes" or "No." If it says "No," that means your professor has not published the course yet.

Canvas Support has removed Canvas courses of past semesters from users' Courses menu and enabled date restrictions on past courses in Canvas to make them read-only. This prevents both students and instructors from making any additional changes to the site. This action was taken to resolve some issues where instructors were editing past sites
